Thanks for the present !
I spent the last five days in Chalon-sur-Saône, a place not so far from heaven. The weather was pleasant, the Burgundy wine delicious, and in the streets of this nice town you could meet lots of different artists : actors, musicians, acrobats, clowns, puppeteers, dancers... Lots of surprises, lots of laughters, of "Waows" full of admiration, and all this for free !

Really next year you should go ! There's another festival of the same kind in Aurillac, at the end of August, but it's often wet and cold...

When "30 years ago" means "history".
In a 1977 film that was on TV last night, the owner of a hotel answered one of her guests who was eagerly enquiring about the postman :"Yes, he's been here, but don't worry, there will another delivery at lunchtime !"
It seems both so recent and like another world !
Today the postman comes once a day, in the middle of the morning, and many people have to walk, sometimes quite a distance, up to their mailbox to get their letters !
What is it like in your country ? Is mail delivery still what we could call a public service ?

Where does this word come from ?
I had to choose a name. "Serendipity" is my favourite in English, in French it's "berlingot" or "calicot", which doesn't mean they mean the same ! It's just I like the sound of it. 25 years ago or so Allan, a friend who means more to me than he seems to remember, taught me this word. That was in England. My life actually started from that word. Or so I feel. Have you got a favourite word ? A word that means more than its dictionary definition ?

Now I was not the only one... apparently someone else had picked that name before me. So I had to add "plus" at the end of it.
Are they journalists themselves ?
This morning on the radio I heard a journalist quote The Sun about Thierry Henry's French temper. Well the first fault of French journalists is to read The Sun. I don't kow anyone personally who reads that "paper" (?), but the French media keep quoting it as reflecting Britons' opinion...

It's so easy to be a cat

Don't you think ?
